Breakfast was okay. Nothing much to talk about. The staff where very friendly and tried there best to do what they can to make our stay as pleasant as possible with what they had to work with.

That half the hotel has been turned into student accomadation. Did not feel the safety that you would normally feel at a hotel. If i had know this before hand i would not have booked there.

Thought there would be a sea view from the room and if not on the ground floor don’t have easy access to view Breakfast was very average Bath shower was average and nozzle too low

Staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful.....someone got stuck in the lift and the staff were frantic to assist.....that should have been management to deal with the issue. Location is a winner. We got lucky with our room as ours was livable for the time we had booked.

False advertising according to their website....it boasts about a cocktail bar and restaurant....there is no cocktail bar anymore and looks like there hasn't been in years...the bar is all closed up and empty....restaurant is only open for breakfast and dinner and you have to let them know in advance that you are joining.....food is all halaal (no mention of this on their website).There is only a room no fridge...the hotel is limited with fridges and you have to book one should you want to stay there.

The hotel is clean and well positioned. Staff is friendly and professional. No loadshedding! We can see that there is renovation ongoing, so the blankets are old, but its clean. Old bathrooms, but clean. Its newly tiled.

The restaurant has amazing staff, but a very limited menu, except for breakfast, which is on par. We couldn't buy softdrinks, or have other types of cofee - a barrista would be awesome in the space. I can really suggest a mini fridge and a microwave with cutlery and crockery for each room.

the staff were amazing. always providing service with a smile whether it was at the reception, in the dining room or cleaning the room. loved the location.

some maintenance needs to take place with lights and taps.

The hotel has an awesome staff, friendly, polite, professional, especially the team in the restaurant We loved the breakfast and the location of the hotel.

The decor in the room was very outdated. The bathroom was terrible. It needs to be updated. My sister was booked in at Wilderness Beach resort, for the same number of days as we were in the hotel, and they paid much less than what we did for a much more modern, fesh up to date room and awesome views of the ocean from their room. I would live to come back to the wilderness hotel and find it revamped and updated

We felt robbed breakfast was non existent fish fingers,chicken nuggets,spaggetti,concentrate juice mix,looks like a feeding scheme.when we complained we are told they accommodate children and groups affected by gang violence.The Hotel manager is guarding the servers at this supposedly buffet breakfast to only five one maximum two fish fingers (as he put it you know the situation) We learnt that if you have a request you can get your order from the back because they cannot display the full buffet for the gang violence children.There were tin fruit and a very substandard half hearted fresh fruit.Then we learn this establishment is hallaal which was nowhere stated on the website and we were subjected to macon, some cheap margarine and you have to wait on a que for toast as one person is allocated to do the toast reason being is that the toaster is broken so this person knows how to manage it. I made it very clear to the manager that I was not happy with the standard it is not near what you see advertised on the website.No muesli no nuts no cold meats no selection of cheeses just some frozen offcuts type of cheese.I was disgusted and embarrassed that I subjected my family to this.I have stayed at the Cullinan ,at the Reddisson Blue Waterfront Cape Town (Business class room) when I booked this I understood it's not the Raddisson blue as I know that I paid R15K for two nights at the Raddisson Blue however the standard was equal to that.This is supposedly a one star hotel but am afraid I was appalled.We ended up having breakfast at the Views Hotel and Spa as we could not stomach any more of this abuse.If one looks on the website the Wilderness Hotel looks to me should be the same as Garden Court Standard.We have stayed at various Garden courts but this was something else.We were made to feel that we have no compassion because they are doing great work for children who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and they are showing them the other side of life.

Decide what is your core business. Is it hospitality or a feeding scheme for the gang violence children as surely I cannot be expected to finance this.I'm paying taxes and paying my tithes so I do not need to be forced to be compassionate when I'm on holiday.We booked this holiday two months in advance and I even phoned just to make sure about the breakfast as for our family we love to spend time at breakfast hence I always opt not for self catering because I love the breakfast.The Lord Charles is around the corner from my house and we often go there for a buffet breakfast we are even going for my husband's birthday on the 6th of October

I had a request for a sea-facing room which was given to me.

The breakfast was poor. There were no cutlery or crockery readily available - I had to ask for everything. Eggs were pre-made and 'parked' on a plate for us to take. Coffee wasn't readily available - I had to ask multiple times. The staff kept taking crockery and food items away whilst guests were eating and not replacing the items - we then had to ask 'Could I please have some cheese. Thought you were doing a refill?'. The matresses of the beds are DONE. There is zero percent comfort in them. Worst night's sleep.

Upgrade upgrade!! Dining room chairs damage, old not looking good. Bathrooms tiles old, basins damage, water marks on tables. Electricity not good in our room. Lights/tv/plugs tend to work one second the other second nothing! Air con in excellent condition. Bedding, towels good condition. Rooms, building inside needs a renovation! Upgrade your entrance where the staff are welcoming people. That is the face of the hotel! Upgrade the nice ladies uniform in the entrance as as well. I had and overseas quest and the lady was really disappointed in the entrance/booking in counter and seroundings. You need to upgrade and maintain!

the bathroom could have been spruced up a little breakfast was ok, but limited healthy options ala carte menu was very limited with no vegetarian options

We booked in at 14:20, the room were not ready. They moved us to another room but there were no toilet paper,tea coffee etc In the bathroom there were no showerhead on the shower We did not stay the night and booked out the same day

The breakfast was lovely, the staff went out of their way to accommodate all our needs. The Manager and his staff give a very personal professional service to all their guests. All enjoyed the stay.

Mould growing between the tiles in the bathroom, and the fishy smell of the towels. The hotel is situated in a prime location, but it has had it’s best years.

Even though an older hotel, it was incredibly clean. Rooms were fine, comfortable, clean and neat, could do with an update, had a kettle and TV. Staff were helpful and breakfast was sufficient. Location was very central and had access to the beach below. Value for money.

Would have liked WIFI in the rooms. As there was very bad signal in our section of the hotel, I struggled to do my work.

The hotel is run down. The rooms are drafty. All the extra amenities that are advertised like spa are non existent. The front entrance automatic door doesn't work but they hide it well. The plugs on the room don't work. The tv has grainy images. The receptionist gave me directions down two floors and around the corner. Instead of offering to show me where my room is or ask someone to do it. The breakfast food didn't taste good either. The kitchen staff were very friendly though. I would never ever stay there again. I feel cheated out of my money because the photos are misleading. This makes me distrust booking.com as well as it was the first place recommended on your site for wilderness
